“Between saying and doing, many a pair of shoes is worn out.” – Iris Murdoch

Last week I got to meet Tim Martinez from the LANL Foundation. He told me about the LANL Laces project. It’s a program that helps provide new shoes for kids that need them.

Tim told me the story of the kid that asked that he be fitted for new shoes that were at least two sizes bigger than he needed. When Tim asked him why, he said that way he could share the shoes with his father.

Sometimes we forget how lucky we are. Sure, we may have lost some money in our 401Ks this week, but we have shoes.

Please help us support LANL Laces. You can make a donation, or run a mile and a half, or volunteer to deliver the shoes. Whatever you like.
